Montreal, June 19, 2014 – The Quebec English School Boards Association (QESBA) is pleased to announce the nomination of Marcus Tabachnick as Executive Director, effective July 1, 2014.
Having served as Chairman of the Lester B. Pearson School Board and former Lakeshore School Board for 20 years and as President of QESBA on two separate occasions, Mr. Tabachnick will bring a vast knowledge of the English public education system to his new role.
“Marcus will be a valuable addition to QESBA, he was President during the last round of negotiations and has worked with successive Ministers of Education and governments in all matters surrounding education. We are very pleased that he accepted to serve as our Executive Director,” said QESBA President David D’Aoust.
Mr. Tabachnick replaces outgoing Executive Director David Birnbaum who was elected on April 7, 2014 as the member of the National Assembly for D’Arcy-McGee.
“QESBA is the voice of English public education in Québec.”
