Montreal, October 19, 2015 – The Quebec English School Boards Association (QESBA) is pleased to announce that Jennifer Maccarone, Chairperson of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board was elected President of the QESBA on Saturday, October 17.

The Association held their Annual General Meeting over the weekend in Sherbrooke, Quebec where elections over a four-day period by on-line voting were held for both President and Vice-President with an 88% participation rate. Suanne Stein Day Chairperson of the Lester B. Pearson School Board was elected Vice-President.

“I would like to thank Commissioners from across the province for giving me their vote of confidence to lead this important Association,” said Jennifer Maccarone. “We are currently in negotiations with this government not only for our very important Teachers, Professionals and Support Staff but for the very future of elected school boards. I will ensure that the voice of QESBA is heard by this government on behalf of our education community but especially for our students,” concluded Maccarone.

QESBA is the voice of English public education in Quebec.
