Quebec City, June 21, 2017 – The Quebec English School Boards Association (QESBA) wishes to congratulate the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports Sébastien Proulx on the launch of his ambitious policy on educational success launched today in Quebec City.
The result of a province-wide consultation on educational success, QESBA is pleased the Minister listened to our experts and stakeholders share their best practices and vision for education.
“It is a particularly good day for our English public network as the Minister has listed many of the English public education system best practices as provincial goals moving forward.” said QESBA President Jennifer Maccarone. “Our school boards boast up to a 94% inclusion rate in our classrooms. We pride ourselves on teaching the student and not the subject with modern practices in both primary and secondary, as well as in our adult education and vocational programs. We are proud of our collective 86% success rate due to our advanced teaching methods that are reflected in this new policy. We are also pleased that his vision for the province includes and underlines the importance of community and parents in ensuring educational success, fundamental principles in the English education network,” added the President.
“Moniseur Proulx can count on our school boards to ensure that this policy is a success for our students, parents, staff and our community. QESBA expects to participate actively and hold a seat on the MEES implementation committee,” concluded the President.
