Montreal, May 9, 2018 – The Quebec English School Boards Association is pleased the government of Québec has named Stephen Colpitts as the new Assistant Deputy Minister for our sector.
Mr. Colpitts has spent his entire career to date within the English school board network. He has held many pedagogical and senior leadership roles within the Lester B. Pearson School Board, most recently as the Director of Educational Services, Director of International Programs and Director of Human Resources.
“Steven will make an excellent Assistant Deputy Minister for our sector. Not only does he understand and have a passion for English public education, he has a wealth of experience that will ultimately benefit the MEES,” said QESBA President Jennifer Maccarone. “As a committed member of our community we are also very proud he will be our voice within the Ministry.”
“The position of ADM for our sector has been vacant for over a year, but we are very happy the Minister waited to name the best candidate,” concluded the President.
QESBA is the voice of English public education in Québec and represents 100,000 students in 340 elementary, high schools, and adult and vocational centres across Québec.
