Montreal, May 21, 2024 – The Quebec English School Boards Association (QESBA) is pleased to announce the nomination of Charles Provencher as the Director of Labour Relations and President of the Comité patronal de négociations des commissions scolaires anglophones (CPNCA).

He has served as a labour relations consultant at CPNCA for the last five years and is currently finishing his second round of negotiations for our sector. He previously served two years within the healthcare and social services network as part of the Employer Negotiating Committee (CPNSSS).

“It was important to QESBA, in the current context, to have continuity, experience and leadership moving forward with the next round of negotiations and we are confident that Charles is the right person for the job,” said the QESBA President Joe Ortona.

“Given that the government is trying to centralize negotiations and go around their own law 37, which established the CPNs, we need a knowledgeable person to ensure that we continually have a strong voice for the employers on this very important file.

“We want to thank the outgoing Director of Labour Relations David Chisholm, who has worked tirelessly for the CPNCA over the last three years and has decided to get closer to the grassroots and the classroom,” concluded the President.

QESBA is the voice of English public education in Québec and represents 100,000 students in over 300 elementary, high schools, and adult and vocational centres across Québec.
